Nova Scotians will experience more sunlight in the evenings when daylight savings time begins Sunday, March 11.
People are reminded to set their clocks ahead one hour at 2 a.m., or Saturday evening before they go to bed.
Watches and clocks aren’t the only items that need adjustment — microwave ovens, DVD players, car clocks and automatic timer lights need to be turned ahead, too.
This is also a good time to change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke detectors should be tested monthly and replaced every 10 years.
